What are Sonder Lumière candles made of?

Each candle is hand-poured using a premium soy wax blend, crafted for a clean, eco-friendly burn. We use phthalate-free, cruelty-free fragrance oils and natural wooden wicks that create a soft, soothing crackle as they burn.

How should I care for my candle?

To ensure the most beautiful, clean, and lasting burn, follow these refined care rituals:

1. First Burn, Set the Memory

Allow your candle to burn for 2–3 hours on the first light—until the entire top layer is melted. This sets the “memory ring” and prevents tunneling.

2. Trim with Intention

Always trim your wood wick to ¼ inch before each burn. This ensures a steady flame, prevents soot, and extends the life of your candle.

3. Let It Glow, Not Go

Burn for no more than 3–4 hours at a time to preserve the fragrance and integrity of the vessel.

4. Burn Within Sight

Always place your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface and keep it away from drafts, children, and pets.

5. Extinguish Gracefully

Snuff the flame, don’t blow. This maintains the wick’s shape and keeps the wax surface smooth.
